Obituary for Carl Danielsen

Carl Danielsen, 86, of Metamora, died Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada on April 18, 1931 to Karl and Petra (Stover) Danielsen. Carl married Marylynn Polky on December 27, 1952 in Oaklawn, IL.

Mr. Danielsen graduated from the University of Illinois, with a bachelors in agriculture. He was a grocery store manager for many years. Being such a people person, it was a natural to switch careers into car sales. Carl worked for many more years as a very successful car salesman for Wally Edgar, in Lake Orion; even achieving #1 car salesman of the year. In retirement, he continued his love for cars by beginning a long road of restoration on a 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk. He was even a member of the North Eastern MI Studebaker Drivers Club. Carl also loved woodworking; from rough to finish carpentry, he did it all, built houses as well. Above all the talents; Mr. Danielsen loved his family, especially those camping memories.

Carl is survived by his children: Mike (Janet) Danielsen of Lake Zurich, IL, Susan Knight of Metamora, Lisa Danielsen of Metamora, Chris (Debby) Danielsen of Howell and Mark Danielsen of Lake Orion; seven grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Daniel, Kjersti, Merrick, Tirsah and Shiloh; three great grandchildren: Clara, Madison and Ava, he is also survived by a sister: Kay Rutkowski of Clarkston as well as a beloved granddog, Bella. Mr. Danielsen was preceded in death recently by his wife: Marylynn (Feb. 2017), siblings: Eva Hansen and John Danielsen and his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. The family is deciding on a charity for memorial contributions. Condolences may be left at www.MuirBrothersLapeer.com
