Obituary for Glenda Bell Tillery

Glenda Bell Tillery, 77, of Lapeer (formerly of Kalkaska), died Friday, October 12, 2018.

Glenda was born January 6, 1941 in Caruthersville, Missouri to Reuben and Erma (Clark) Hancock. She grew up in Caruthersville, MO and eventually the family moved to Pontiac, MI. Glenda graduated from Pontiac Central High School, class of 1958. She married Douglas Roe Tillery on September 23, 1961 in Pontiac. Glenda was a secretary at Fleet Carrier for many, many years. Glenda and Doug loved their years in Kalkaska and Camp Tanuga at the end of their road held a very special place in their hearts. Glenda was a devout member at Hillside Disciple Church in Lapeer. Glenda loved her family, her God and anything with sugar.

Glenda is survived by her sons: Douglas Tillery, Jr. of Lapeer and Donald (Lisa) Tillery of Lapeer; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Will) Lee of Rochester Hills, Daniel (Megan) Tillery of Waterford, David (Katie) Tillery of Lithopolis, OH and Lauren (fiancé, Jacob Prusaitis) Tillery of Tecumseh; three great grandchildren: Tyler, Sienna and Brooke. Glenda is also survived by her sister, Margie Parkinson of Missouri. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas R. Tillery, Sr.; brother, Glenn Hancock; sister, Nadine Limbaugh and her aforementioned parents.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
