Obituary for Milton C. Woodrow, Jr.

Milton C. Woodrow, Jr., age 94, lifetime Lapeer area resident, died Wednesday, January 2, 2019. He was born August 3, 1924 at the family home in Deerfield Twp, to Milton and Edna (Tingle) Woodrow.

Milton married Iva Virginia Stapleton on June 3, 1944, at his family’s home in Deerfield Twp…the same place he was born. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow were lifelong dairy farmers on Greenwood Road in Lapeer. He was a proud member of the Michigan Milk Producers, working on the family farm and milking cows until 2014. Milton worked side by side with his family on the dairy farm for over 60 years. He also loved fishing, making maple syrup and just spending time with family and friends. Mr. Woodrow was “grandpa”, “papa” and “pops” to many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Milton is survived by his grandchildren: Paula Beard, Denise Beard, Matthew (Lisa) Beard, Lynn Sinko and Kevin Woodrow; great grandchildren: MacKenzie, Keegan, Tailor, Cheyanne, Kasie and Henrick; brothers: Charles (Thelma) Woodrow and Fred (Jerriene) Woodrow; many many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and great friends aplenty. He was preceded in death by his wife: Iva Woodrow in 1999; son: Mark Woodrow; daughter: Marilyn Beard; parents: Milton and Edna Woodrow; great-granddaughter: Shelbie Beard; and brothers: Bob Woodrow and Bill Woodrow.

In accordance with Mr. Woodrow’s wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. A celebration of Milton’s life will take place at a later date.
