Obituary for Robert Hoyle Tucker

Robert Hoyle Tucker, known by friends and family as "Robert", "Bob", and "Tucker", of Lapeer died Friday, March 29, 2019.

Bob was born June 22, 1930, in Asheville, North Carolina, to Lois and Myrtle (Parsons) Tucker. He graduated from Ashley High School in Gastonia, N.C., class of 1948. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Mary Ruth "Rudi" Hart on August 13, 1955 in Gastonia. Bob earned his degrees at North Carolina State University and later continued his studies at Princeton University. Bob spent most of his professional career as a professor of architecture at the University of Detroit and upon retirement was awarded "Professor Emeritus". Bob had many diverse interests including piloting sailplanes and restoring Italian cars.

Bob is survived by his wife Rudi Tucker; his children, Stuart Tucker of Hamtramck, Flynn Tucker of Lapeer, Ashley White of Lapeer, and Roman Tucker of Attica. Bob is also survived by his beloved grandson, Tucker White of Lapeer. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. A celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
