Obituary for Margaret Veronica Ridenour

Margaret Veronica Ridenour, age 94, of Lapeer, formerly of Royal Oak, died Monday, January 22, 2018. She was born February 17, 1923 in Peck, Michigan, to Joseph and Annastasia (Mullaney) Mullen.

Margaret was in the first graduating class from Mercy College in 1944, where she received her degree in nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Detroit for many years in Labor and Delivery, assisting with the birth of several of her nieces and nephews. She married Cliff T. Ridenour on June 11, 1960, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. Margaret and Cliff were longtime members of St. Mark Catholic Church in Goodrich. They truly enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, here in Michigan and in Florida for many years. Margaret was an avid golfer, euchre player, bowler….anything outdoors. She was a loving, spunky, humorous, energetic wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Margaret is survived by her children: Dan (Diana) Ridenour, Laura (Gary) Kozlowski, Patricia Starr, Peggy Deering, Greg (Diane) Ridenour, Michelle (Clif) Bracey, Chris (Karen) Ridenour, Sharron Saltarelli, Terry (Christine) Ridenour, Mary Jo (Marty Hennessy) Ridenour, Susan (Ron) Flowers and Cliff (Jeannine) Ridenour; 33 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; sisters: Patricia Mullen, AnneTherse Sayers and Mary (Tom) Everly; several nieces and nephews. She was proceded in death by her first husband: Jack McDonald; second husband: Cliff Ridenour; parents: Joseph and Annastasia Mullen; son-in-law: Vince Saltarelli; grandsons: Mike Ridenour and Joseph Estrada; and siblings: Rita, Bob, Dick, Joe, Tom, Jim, JoAnn, Geralda, Jerome and John.

Visitation for Mrs. Ridenour will be 2-8PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 1021 S. Lapeer Rd., Lapeer, Michigan 48446. Prayers with Eulogies will be held 7:30PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Margaret’s Funeral Mass will be 11:00AM Thursday, January 25, 2018, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church (Goodrich), 7296 Gale Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. The family will also receive friends from 10-11AM Thursday, at the church, prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2413 S. Linden Rd., Ste.
