Obituary for Donald Marvicsin

Donald Marvicsin, age 89, of Metamora/Lapeer, formerly of Madison Heights, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was born April 15, 1929 in Royal Oak, to Uros and Radoyka (Tornowsky) Marvicsin.

Mr. Marvicsin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War. He married Agnes Cooper on May 14, 1955 at the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Detroit. Don worked over 30 years for the Chrysler Corporation, where he wrote technical manuals. He was an avid collector of antique automobile memorabilia and a member of the Model A Restorer Club. Mr. and Mrs. Marvicsin have attended the First Presbyterian Church in Lapeer for many many years.

Don is survived by his wife: Agnes; children: Gary (Donna) Marvicsin of Farmington Hills and Laurie (Ken) Clark of Oakland Twp.; grandchildren: Matthew, David, Stacie, Lindsey and Daniel; siblings: Lena Brown of Lapeer, Robert Marvicsin of Osseo, MI and Wesley Marvicsin of Osseo, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten older brothers and sisters.

Please in lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 433 N. Calhoun, Lapeer, MI 48446.

The family will receive friends from Noon-4PM Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 1021 S. Lapeer Rd., Lapeer, MI 48446. No formal funeral service will take place. Mr. Marvicsin’s cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Cremation has been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home. Please leave condolences and memories at
